Montezuma Canyon Vineyard, UT
About 90 minutes south of Moab, down a winding, craggy road that skirts the edges of towering red rock cliffs, you'll find yourself surrounded by the scent of juniper and pinyon pine. This rugged stretch of desert, where the earth seems to pulse with a quiet, timeless energy, is home to one of the most unexpected gems in the region-Montezuma Canyon Ranch and Vineyards.
Nestled in a sheltered valley with rugged canyon walls and petroglyphs, this small but thriving vineyard offers a serene escape from the busy world. The soil here is rich and fertile, not dissimilar to our Colorado vineyard, and the harsh desert climate provides the perfect balance of intense sunlight and cool, crisp nights that are ideal for growing.
The vineyard was planted in 2007 on ancient sandstone soils with Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc but over the years fell into neglect. The Ranch owners reached out in 2022 asking if our team had interest in farming it and we leapt at the opportunity. This stunning landscape is a true piece of history and it's not lost on us. We understand the importance in taking care of this land and utilize regenerative farming, never spray and carefully tend the vines by hand.
We don't just want you to taste our wine—we want you to experience the soul of this place in every sip. It’s our mission to bottle the spirit of the desert, so that wherever you are, you can share in the magic of this special, hidden corner of the world.
