About Us

After completing an undergrad in Animal Science at Leed’s University, Ben took a summer job at Layton’s Wine Merchant in London where he would deliver wine by bicycle across the city. It was through this experience his appreciation and curiosity about the wine world deepened, leading him to apply for a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship.

The scholarship took him to The University of Adelaide in Australia, where he honed his craft with a degree in Oenology. Armed with this knowledge and a desire to work in the Northern Hemisphere, Ben found his calling in Colorado, a state he had previously visited and fallen in love with. He was hired as the winemaker at Canyon Wind Cellars and moved in 2001, marking the beginning of his influential career in the industry.

Known for his forward-thinking and willingness to challenge norms, Ben has made a significant impact on the wine world. He was one of the pioneers behind the canned wine trend and has also been a leading advocate for kegged wine. His innovative spirit extends beyond just packaging; he is continuously working to push the boundaries of what’s possible both in the vineyard and the winery.

In recognition of his contributions to the industry, Ben was named one of Wine Enthusiast’s Top 40 Under 40 Industry Influencers, a testament to his role as a trailblazer in the world of wine. Today, his influence continues to grow, and he remains a key figure in the ongoing evolution of wine in the 21st century.
